Pop-Up Art SVG Assembly Tutorial

Hello crafty friends!
Here is a tutorial on how to work with pop-up art SVGs. Click on any of the images to enlarge them.
In this tutorial I will be using the Pop-up Flower design which can be found here: http://kraftgineer.com/collections/new-releases/products/popup-flowers.
Materials Needed:
- Cardstock paper
- LOW TACK MAT
- Holographic paper or Duck Tape Prism sheets/rolls
- Electronic cutting machine (I used the Cricut Explore Air)
- A weeding tool
- A shadow box or frame with the glass removed
- Double sided tape
Step 1. Size your design according to your frame and then cut out the design. I have included a rectangle in the design for sizing. This rectangle can be deleted or hidden before you cut. To fit my frame I resized my entire design to a width of 9.5”x7.34” see Figure 1a. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you use a mat that is not very sticky.
Note: Cricut users, use file with _Cricut. This file will come in as 8.5x11. Do not forget to hide the rectangle then select all and attach everything before cutting.
Step 2. Weed out the outside petal of each of the flowers. See Figure 2.
Step 3. Using the weeding tool (a sharp pick tool) carefully unstick lift each flower petal. Make sure you do not force any of it or the paper will rip. When each petal is lifted make sure the center of the flower is also unstuck. Remove the flower’s central circle if necessary. See Figure 3.
Step 4. Slowly start peeling the paper off the mat. I used my weeding tool to help the paper peel off. Be extra careful around the flowers’ centers. See Figure 4.
Step 5. Once the design is off your mat place your finger at the start of one of the petals as shown on Figure 5a. Bend the petal towards your finger, see Figure 5b. Then start separating the petal layers starting with the largest one, see Figure 5c. Repeat this step for every petal of each of the flowers.
Step 6. Once all the petals have been separated use the weeding tool to lift the inner small petals. Use your fingers to bend it to the desired position. See Figure 6.
Step 7. Place the prism paper or holographic paper below your design. Use double sided tape between the cardstock and prism paper to keep the paper in place. A small piece in each corner is more than enough for this design. See Figure 7.
Step 8. Place your final product in a frame. Make sure the pop-up part is facing the glass part of the frame and not the backing. Replace the frame backing and you are done! See Figure 8 and Figure 9.
